About: Me

Me

I am Steven D. Krause and I am a professor in the Department of English Language and Literature at Eastern Michigan University in Ypsilanti, Michigan. Most of my teaching and scholarship is about the connections between writing pedagogy and technology. Besides scholarship about MOOCs and online pedagogy more broadly, I’m also interested in scholarship about rhetorical situation, multimedia/new media, blogging, writing pedagogy, self-publishing, and “the profession” writ large.

I co-edited one of the first collection of scholarly essays about MOOCs, Invasion of the MOOCs: the Promises and Perils of Massive Open Online Courses. That collection was published by Parlor Press in early 2014– just when the “irrational exuberance” of MOOCs began to fade. I’ve published several articles and chapters about MOOCs, and I blogged about my own MOOC experiences extensively.
